报告摘要:
This presentation explores the potential of harvesting energy from ocean waves and tidal movements, focusing on recent advancements in wave energy technology. Oceans present a vast, renewable energy source that significantly contributes to sustainable power generation. We will assess the challenges and benefits of integrating these systems into existing energy grids by examining various wave and tidal energy conversion mechanisms. The discussion highlights the work conducted at the University of Auckland, where innovative methods are being developed to enhance the efficiency and resilience of wave energy converters. This research aims to optimize energy capture from the unique marine conditions around New Zealand, a region known for strong and consistent wave activity. Through this work, the University of Auckland contributes to the global pursuit of renewable ocean energy, addresses technical obstacles, and advances designs that may facilitate large-scale deployment of ocean-based renewable energy solutions
